Maanin Iru Kangal is one of those mellifluous Illayaraja songs that doesn’t come across as a song from a Rajnikanth film but it is. This song is composed in the Mayamalawagowla raga which is also called a Morning raga. This raga is said to evoke peace that creates a soothing effect hence can be sung anytime.

Maappilai directed by Rajasekhar is the remake of the Telugu film Attaku Yamudu Ammayikki Mogudu which had Mega Star Chiranjeevi playing the lead role and in Mappilai he played a camera. Both the movies were produced by Chiranjeevi’s Brother-in-law and Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind under his Geetha Arts banner.
