“Orey Muththam,” directed by C.A. Mugilan, is his only directorial movie. Unfortunately, this movie was a big box office flop. If you’re lucky, you might find a poor-quality print of this movie on YouTube. I haven’t seen the movie, but the biggest saving grace is Illayaraja’s songs. This particular song seems to have been repeatedly played on Sri Lankan radio back in the day, but unfortunately, we didn’t get to hear it much. I’m glad that I stumbled upon this song. Look out for the initial flute bit, which is an absolutely gorgeous piece of music.
