Yatra directed by Balu Mahendra seems to be a love story at the onset but it talks about Police brutality during the emergency period. The Movie is also an adaptation of a 1977 classic The Yellow Handkerchief. This film has received 3 Kerala State awards which got two awards for Balu Mahendra and one for Mammootty.

Thannannam Thaanannam is inspired by My Favourite Things from 1959 The Sound of Music, a musical film. The prelude of this song also reminded me of the Poottukkal Pottaalum from the film Chatriyan, which I covered earlier in this series.
