Echoes of the Maestro – Song 31 – Ithuthan

The debut film of Director R.K.Selvamani, Pulan Visaranai, was also the first film for actor Sarath Kumar. This movie is based on the real-life confessions of the criminal Auto Shankar. While some of the dialogue in the movie didn’t age well, the song was a lot of fun to listen to, especially Raja appa enjoyed singing it himself. Oh! Do watch the Video song and Kuyili’s dance was awesome. This is the 3rd song of Kuyili I’ve seen as a dancer, she was brilliant in all of them.

Echoes of the Maestro – Song 60 – VUzhaipaali Illadha

I especially chose this song because it was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Whenever this song gets played on TV or Radio I used to dance like Rajni it seems and it still is one of my favourites. Vaali brilliantly laces the song with the typical Rajni message but also does justice to the title and the Coolies. Mano simply elevates the song up a notch.
