Kavikuyil is the movie that cemented Illayaraja as a leading composer in Tamil Cinema. This is the first movie Illayaraja collaborated with legendary M. Balamuralikrishna and this is also the movie Illayaraj introduced Sujatha Mohan.

Kadhal Oviyam is a mellifluous sad song. You would feel sad and pleasant both at the same time. That’s how I felt and many in the comment section on Youtube expressed the same.
