If an iconic film can inspire many other film Industries in the country back in the late 70’s it is none other than Don (1978) starring Amitabh Bachan. Yugandhar is the official Telugu remake of Don starring legendary N.T.Rama Rao and this is the only film Illayaraja got to collaborate with him.

Illayaraaja has given us another fantastic song from the same album, Badrakaali. A few weeks ago, I shared a song that was banned from All India Radio; that song was very folksy. However, this one is more of a song where both lovers respond to each other. As usual, Illayaraja’s touch with Malaysia Vasudevan and S. Janaki’s voices adds more fun. Do give it a listen!

Until this film, Tamil audiences knew Rajnikant only as a villain actor and this film proved them wrong. The same happened to veteran actor Sivakumar who until this film only acted as Goody Two Shoes and this film showed the audience another side of the actor.
